Why choose Midlands Apprenticeships?
We are a local company
Midlands Apprenticeships' office is in Telford and all of our staff are from the surrounding area. We are therefore passionate about helping local businesses and enabling young people to prosper.
We are well connected
For us to provide our clients with the best young people, we need to be well connected with partners that can refer candidates to us. Midlands Apprenticeships’ current partners include:
- local organisations that provide services to the community in both the public and private sectors. This includes the Wolverhampton Voluntary Sector Skills Council, Wolverhampton Citizens Advice Bureau, Wolverhampton Council, Bilston Craft Gallery, Bantock House, Acorns and Wolverhampton’s Service for Children and Young People
- the Princes Trust in Birmingham, Walsall, Cannock, Dudley, Sandwell and Shropshire, both North and South, with whom we are proud to have a strong relationship
- local job centres in Wolverhampton, Walsall, Cannock, Staffordshire and Bilston where we hold regular recruitment drives and awareness sessions
We work with schools
As part of our commitment to the future of local businesses, we are starting to actively engage with local schools to provide a possible gateway for young people that are not best suited to the structure of academia and would rather be in the workplace. Young people now have to stay in school – until they are 17 for 2014 and 18 for 2015 – unless they are in full time education, training or in employment. This will create opportunities for employers and young people alike.
We nurture young talent
We believe Apprenticeships are about taking individuals on a journey of discovery. Our learners gain new skills and qualifications that form the foundations of their career and shape their entire future. Our aim is to help individuals to develop and achieve their full potential in life by giving them excellent opportunities.
We work with you to understand your business
Quality is key at Midlands Apprenticeships. When we start working with you, we will conduct an ‘organisational needs analysis’ with you to help us fully understand your business and your organisational learning requirements. This process will usually indicate where an organisation needs additional resource and this often identifies an apprenticeship opportunity.
Our apprentices get exceptional support throughout their Apprenticeship. At the start, we will carry out a full induction with the learner and employer. We will appoint an assessor who will visit you both once per month to provide tuition and support; review progress made and set future aims and objectives.
Friendly and professional service
We work very closely with our learners, employers and partners. Our knowledgeable staff are very friendly and are on hand to offer support and answer any queries you may have. We will always aim to answer any enquiries as quickly as possible and welcome your feedback to help us to continually improve our service.
Access to funding
Midlands Apprenticeships is able to draw upon government funding for apprenticeships so we may be able to deliver your programme without cost to you. This is very dependent on the age of the apprentice and any prior qualifications.
If you are looking to take on a 16-18 year old apprentice then our recruitment service is free of charge to the employer. If the vacancy is for or filled by someone 19 or over then there is a charge for the recruitment service. This is simply because of the large difference in funding rates between 16-18 and 19+.
