Induction and Registration
Once an apprentice has been identified and all eligibility checks have been completed, Midlands Apprenticeships will arrange a suitable date with the employer to come and induct the apprentice onto the Apprenticeship programme.
Ahead of this date, the employer will receive an Induction Pack which details what will be covered on the day. This includes:
- Apprenticeship Handbook
- Learning/Teaching Activity
- Completion of an initial assessment in English, Maths and ICT (if required)
- Completion of a skills scan document
- Guided Learning Log
- Key Policies and Procedures
- Completion of funding paperwork – including a Health and Safety Assessment
An induction can take between half a day and a full day, dependent on whether initial assessments have previously taken place.
The employer will be required to be present at part of the induction to ensure their commitment to the programme and sign all of the funding paperwork. Employers must be confident that the potential apprentice has the learning potential/capacity, motivation and aptitude to achieve all of the mandatory outcomes of the framework.
Once the funder has processed all of the paperwork and confirmed that funding is place for the apprentice, Midlands Apprenticeships will register the apprentice for their qualifications with the relevant awarding body.
